Some content at last, yay!

LanFriends is a tool written in Python to dynamically manage entries of the hosts file by automatically find other instances on a local network. Its purpose is to allow several computers on a network with DHCP allocated addresses to have fixed names.

It was developed while I was at school and we needed a way to easily address each others computers without having to check and communicate our IP addresses. I still use it at home because my router does not support static DHCP addresses.

Check INSTALL and README files included for instructions.

This software is not actively maintained anymore, but it should work quite flawlessly as is. However, if you want to take over the development or just send me some patches, please feel free to do so!
